Belgrade: It’s been all go in preparing for our events and visits before Sunday’s big game.
We’ve bought the 12 tickets for 10 children and two carers from Zvečanska, Moše Pijada, Drinke Pavlovića and Zmaja Orphanages.
On Monday, we will be visiting three of the four orphanages with gifts totalling up to €1000, including a table tennis table, sporting equipment and funds to renovate the outdoor relaxation space in one home. Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to get involved.
We’ve also received a whole host of frisbees courtesy of Blazing To Serbia, who are currently visiting Serbia, donating kits and equipment to start a rugby team in Ruma, just north of Belgrade. One of our representatives met with them today in Kulturni centar GRAD the bar that will host the pre-match party on Sunday and everything has been finalised to make sure for a great afternoon: https://www.facebook.com/events/278409005903643/?fref=ts
Many thanks to British Embassy Belgrade for the welcome at the Embassy this afternoon and their help in putting us in contact with the homes. Ambassador Denis Keefe made a point of mentioning Gôl’s work in his speech to mark Cardiff’s staging of the Champions’ League final.

SERBIA: We’re delighted to have been covered in the Serbian online news portal ‘Mondo’ for the second time, as they note our planned visits in Belgrade next month.

As you should all be aware, we are organising a fundraising PRE-MATCH PARTY in Belgrade from 1pm on the day of the game. The bar is in a convenient location in the city centre and close to transport to the ground. Entry is free but we would welcome donations to help fund our work in Serbia (see link above. THANK YOU to everyone who made Friday night such a success. Over £400 raised which puts us within touching distance of what we will donate to LauraLynn – Ireland’s Children Hospice at the end of the month.
A special thanks to Podcast Pel-droed for organising such a brilliant night, to Gôl Football Centre, Cardiff, for giving us the space for free and to everyone who donated raffle prizes.
We must congratulate the worthy winners, pictured below, who came an incredible 26 points ahead of any other team. Well done!

Tbilisi or The Tip!
Wales supporters will be driving to Georgia this autumn before the World Cup qualifying match to raise money for Gôl. 3 cars have already committed to the 2,500 mile road to Kutaisi which is twinned with Newport. They will take football kits and supplies and, if they make it there safely, donate the cars to good causes in Georgia.
We were warmly welcomed by our hosts in 2009 on the way to Azerbaijan and we will revisit Public schools 1, 3 (for orphans) and 44 (a musical school). Pictures below.
